Housing Timeline

Posted by Amber -- March 17, 2008 8:24 AM

Now that the spring semester is here, I encourage all admitted students to log onto http://housing.uark.edu as soon as possible, and take a look at the housing timeline. The housing timeline will let you know what important dates are coming up. This is a good way to stay organized and to make sure that you are on track with the housing process. I wish you all the best of luck, and if you have any questions, please feel free to contact our office.

February 1st Scholarship Deadline

Posted by Elizabeth -- January 31, 2008 10:34 AM

I just wanted to remind everyone that February 1st is just around the corner. February 1st is our final deadline for scholarships. If you are applying for scholarships, you need to have everything postmarked by February 1st and in the mail. The scholarship address is:

Office of Academic Scholarship
101 Old Main
1 University of Arkansas
Fayetteville, AR 72701

Or you can submit your scholarship application online at http://scholarships.uark.edu/index.php/apply/default. Also, if you already applied for scholarships on November 15th, you can resubmit your high school transcript with your grades from the first semester of your senior year. If you have new test scores, make sure you include them on your transcript. I wish you all luck in the scholarship process!

Spring (semester) is here!

Posted by Michelle -- January 17, 2008 4:23 PM

Despite the cold and still-barren trees, spring semester is here. I’ve always thought that calling this ’spring’ semester is misleading, as it is definitely still winter outside! It feels like campus has come back to life after a winter nap.  Students are back, classes have started, the Union is busy, and events and performances are being announced across campus.  There are two free classical music concerts at the Fine Arts Center that I’m hoping to attend this weekend.  I’m also excited to see Arthur Miller’s play ”All My Sons,” which the University Theatre is putting on during the first two weeks of February.  While Mother Nature says it is still winter, spring has definitely arrived on campus!

One birdie and a Razorback win…what a weekend!

Posted by Matt -- January 10, 2008 4:06 PM

Today is not just an ordinary day in the life of this admissions counselor; it is my birthday. More specifically, it is my 25th birthday. It seems as each year passes, the day becomes less significant to me, but it is still a very memorable day in the lives of my parents, because I am the baby in the family.

Anyway, as I tread lightly, so not to initiate the onset of a quarter-life crisis, I will reflect on my weekend here in Fayetteville. It was a great weekend in the Ozarks with both days having temperatures reaching into the 60s. It was a bit windy for golf on Saturday, but I managed to join a buddy for a round of 9. I am by no means Jack Nicklaus or Tiger Woods, but I did have a legitimate birdie on hole 8, i.e. no mulligan nor adjustments in lie. For all the golfers out there, here is a quick tidbit for you: Fayetteville, Arkansas, has more golf courses per capita than any other city in the U.S.

Following what most would consider a lackluster performance on the links, I was still energized enough to watch some college basketball. I was glad to see our Arkansas Razorbacks pull out an 85-78 road win over Baylor, and I am very excited to see how the Hogs will perform once SEC play gets here.

So long from the Hill!

Hi Again!

Posted by Emerald -- January 4, 2008 10:54 AM

Winter has finally arrived in Fayetteville! We had our first snow of the season this weekend. It was just a dusting, but I was still excited. I am done with my traveling for this season, but I am already looking forward to being back down in Southern Arkansas as soon as possible.  I am in the office, so if you have been wanting to come and see the campus, now is a great time!  You can make an appointment with the Office of Admissions by going to https://www.uark.edu/admin/admiss/website/visit/visit/reg/index.php or by calling 1-800-377-8632 or 479-575-5346.  If you let us know what academic program you’re interested in, our tour coordinator, Jessica Sharbaugh, will attempt to set up an appointment for you with someone in that department.  Hope to see you soon!
